The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) confirms that U.S. Secretary of Treasury, Tim Geithner, will be a keynote speaker at the 31st Annual National Convention & Business Expo scheduled for Wednesday, September 22nd through Saturday, September 25th at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.
Secretary Geithner will be joining USHCC President and CEO, Javier Palomarez and Hispanic business leaders on Thursday, September 23rd from 7:30 - 8:15 a.m. at a special session called "Coffee with the Secretary." The national leaders will discuss key policy issues impacting the growth and importance of the Hispanic business community.
This special session will kick-off the first full day of the USHCC Convention which includes key events such as the Excellence in Leadership Breakfast, the Ultimate Latina Luncheon and an International Ceremony at Cowboys Stadium.
"The confirmation of Secretary Geithner to speak at the USHCC convention is a testament to his belief that small business is the engine that drives the American economy and the profound effect that Hispanic Business Enterprises (HBEs) will have on the future of America," said Javier Palomarez, USHCC President and CEO. The USHCC National Convention & Business Expo is the largest gathering of Hispanic business leaders in America. The convention will bring together thousands of Hispanic entrepreneurs, corporate executives, procurement and supplier-diversity professionals from the private and public sectors, as well as Latina leaders, key officials from President Obama's Administration and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce leaders from throughout the nation.
Additional highlights of the convention include the Business Expo, bringing government, small business and corporate entities together for matchmaking opportunities; the Ultimate Latina Luncheon, honoring exceptional Latina entrepreneurs; and the Youth Entrepreneurship BizFest, a comprehensive program whereby aspiring Hispanic entrepreneurs learn about the world of business.
